The plaintiff was a passenger in a company vehicle driving through the Kern River Canyon on Highway 178 toward Wofford Heights when the driver fell asleep at the wheel, drove off of a cliff, and rolled down the canyon. He suffered a spine injury that required fusion/surgery.
