Study: Bakersfield Ranks Fourth Most Dangerous Metro Area For Pedestrians

Bakersfield is the fourth most dangerous metro area for pedestrians, according to a new study by Smart Growth America. KGET-17 News spoke with Matt Clark, managing partner and attorney at the Law Office of Chain Cohn Clark, about the study and the law firm’s own analysis that found 1,316 crashes involving pedestrians in Bakersfield from 2012 to 2023, 14% resulting in fatalities, and most of the accidents taking place in the downtown and east Bakersfield areas.
